Guidelines for Establishing Academic Cooperation Agreements between National Central University and Overseas Academic or Research Institutions
Objectives of the Agreement
To promote academic research and foster exchange between the faculty and students of NCU and overseas academic and research institutions, thereby implementing the University’s internationalization policy and enhancing its global visibility, these guidelines are established as the basis for entering into academic cooperation agreements with reputable foreign universities and research institutions.
Partner Institutions
The partners shall primarily be overseas academic and research institutions, and cooperation agreements may only be signed based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.
The Agreement Should Include the Following Provisions
- Principle: Equality and mutual benefit
- Contents and Items: The agreement must include the contract title, scope of cooperation, contract duration, signatories, and date of signing
- Scope of Cooperation: Based on mutual negotiation, the cooperation may include student exchange, dual-degree programs, faculty exchange, scholar visits, collaborative research, journal exchange, and other related activities
- Authorized Signatories: For university-level agreements, the president or an authorized representative shall sign; for department-level agreements, the highest-level supervisor of the respective unit shall sign
- Contact Persons: Each party should designate an officer from the contracting unit to serve as the contact person
- Language: An English version of the agreement must be provided
Agreement Signing Process
Agreement Signing Methods
The signing location is flexible. Representatives from both parties may visit each other’s institutions to sign the agreement during a formal ceremony, or alternatively, the agreement may be executed via postal service.
Amendment or Termination of the Agreement
Either party may propose an amendment or termination of the agreement, provided that the timing complies with the terms specified in the signed contract. In the event of any amendment or termination, the Office of International Affairs must be notified accordingly.
